Watch the International Booker Prize 2025 shortlist films
Lucy Boynton, Jamie Demetriou, Omari Douglas, Rosalind Eleazar, Ambika Mod and Peter Serafinowicz star in our new films showcasing the International Booker Prize 2025 shortlist

Lights, camera, action… it’s time to unveil our 2025 shortlist films for the International Booker Prize, the world’s most influential literary award for translated fiction.
For the past few years, we have created sets of stunning two-minute films to celebrate the books shortlisted for our latest prizes. The films have starred some of the UK’s best known actors and performers, from Will Poulter to Dua Lipa, and have become one of the highlights of our prize seasons, with last year’s films viewed online more than 80 million times.Â
The new films, released today, are directed by Roxy Rezvany, an award-winning writer-director and producer working in documentary, film and TV, who is one of BAFTA’s Elevate filmmakers for 2025-26.
The actors appearing in the films are: Lucy Boynton (A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, Bohemian Rhapsody); Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats, Fleabag); Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin, Black Doves); Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses, Missing You); Ambika Mod (One Day, This is Going to Hurt) and Peter Serafinowicz (Amandaland, The Tick). Â
The shortlist films are part of a long tradition of Booker Prizes screen adaptations. Almost 80 books that have been longlisted or shortlisted for the Booker or International Booker Prize have been adapted for the big or small screen over the years, with several going on to win Oscars, BAFTAs and Emmys. They range from The Remains of the Day to Atonement, Normal People to The Handmaid’s Tale, Wolf Hall to Life of Pi, The Underground Railroad to Small Things Like These.Â
