In just under three weeks’ time, on Tuesday, May 23, the winner of the International Booker Prize 2023 will be announced. But before we find out the winner, we’re going to be interviewing the shortlisted authors and translators in a series of video Q&As – and we’d like you to supply the questions!
Perhaps you've read some of the novels and would like to know more, or you'd like to ask the authors how they wrote their nominated book or about the inspirations behind it. Or maybe you'd like to know how the translators produced their English editions and what their process was.
For a recap of the shortlisted titles, visit The Booker Prizes website. Leave your questions in the comments below or email them to contactus@bookerprizefoundation.org. We’ll put a handful of your questions to each author and translator and publish the video interviews next month.

I'm curious to know reading list of Mr Gospodinov while writing Time Shelter because it's exquisite, stunning and made me scramble to find book and events reference.
“Standing Heavy” explores themes of identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience. Through Koffi's eyes, we see the challenges faced by many immigrants in their pursuit of the so-called "better life" promised by the West. The book also sheds light on the complex relationship between France and its former colonies in Africa.
I want to know the most intriguing when write this novel and also what the idea to create it?
1. Can you name an author who writes in a language other than your own (but not English) whose work you have particularly enjoyed or been inspired by?
2. I believe there are many hidden literary gems, in particular written by women authors, that have yet to come to light in the English language. If you reflect back on your own reading in your maternal language, who might you suggest we have yet to discover?
